As a youngster, I grew up outside of Buffalo, NY. In high school, after using a couple of the "staff cameras" on the yearbook, I got the bug and went home and told my parents I wanted to buy a camera. Not just ANY camera, but the most expensive one I could afford! They took me to Delaware Camera Mart in Buffalo. That is where I plunked down ALL my savings - $101 and went home with a brand new Hanimex Praktika Super TL!
Several years after graduating from St. Lawrence University I purchased a Nikon FE2 along with a Nikkor 50mm F1.4 and Nikkor 28 F2. I shot several weddings, some photos for a book and lots of family events - learning more with each experience.
Later, after working at Eastman Kodak for 12 years, and having the opportunity to use all the popular consumer digital cameras on the market, I was not satisfied with the quality of the digital photos they produced. It wasn't until March of 2014 that I purchased a Nikon D5300 - and 2 years later, a Nikon D810. I am still enjoying the ride!
